Hi, I'm Nancy Branka.

When I am not traveling or spending time with family friends, you’ll likely find me with my head in a book, my laptop, or a drawing pad.

Welcome! I’m Nancy Branka and this website is my repository for my personal work, where I share my writing, art, and anything else that suits me. These days I have abundant time and creative energy. I have been writing short stories and a novel. I have been taking an art class, focused on graphite drawing, and occasionally watercolor and pastels. I find working on craft to be satisfying and gratifying–the desire to “get better” drives me.

Several years ago my husband and I relocated from California to Aiken, SC and I have enjoyed immersion in the South–the friendly people, beautiful geography, and complex history. If travel is broadening (and it is!), moving to a totally new environment is completely eye-opening.

My passion project here is grantwriting for a new safehouse for survivors of child sex trafficking here in Aiken. I also participate in a book club, a fiber arts group, and a writers critique group.

In a previous life, I created content about age in the workplace (StartupDecoder.com), was a content strategist for a startup called Bizly (and wrote a novel based on this experience), and was the managing editor of Executive Travel Magazine.
